Things are hotting up at work with the lead up to the Christmas break, lots to do before the office closure. An opportunity for a social morning ride arose with Roy P and Max so it was up very early to take care of some work stuff that I've been struggling to get to because of a string of interruptions and decisions required.

I managed to

Came home for lunch today, decided to take the Road King back to work.  The weather was perfect, the bike was sparkling after Sunday's efforts, it just had to be ridden!  On arrival the proprietor of a neighbouring business came over for a chat and a good look at the Harley.  Seems like lots of people would like to have one.

He

After 430 or so k's in a couple of days, most of them in the rain, I had to face up to the fact that I needed to clean the Harley-Davidson before I rode it again.  I guess that's part of the commitment of owning something that's 40% chrome :-).  Washing vehicles isn't really something I enjoy though, I've revelled in the hand  car

We left Rosehill in the rain and headed out on the M4 to Oran Park.  The rain didn't slow but fortunately the newly aquired wet weather gear kept us comfy.  It took a little longer than expected to get there but we arrived close enough on time, among the last two or three.

Getting off the bike my son and I were pretty excited,

After the disappointment of arriving at Oran Park and not getting to ride around it, it was time to throw a leg over the blue and silver beast and head back home.  There was an opportunity to deliver my son to my wife who was in Sydney shopping if he didn't want to continue to brave the weather on the back of the bike but there was no question

Tonight my favourite pillion and I went to a 3 hour seminar on defensive riding techinques that was the optional precursor to the Advanced Riding Course that is on tomorrow at Oran Park.  It was only a couple of clicks to the venue from our campsite at the Mecure Rosehill so we took the Harley.

The venue was Martha Street Clyde at the

After buying up on wet weather gear and hanging  around waiting for a weather miracle (that didn't come) it was time to leave for Sydney.  I decided to forego the wet weather gear for now, there was a bit of mist around but it wasn't really raining.  Off we went and 10k's from home, we rode through a shower.  No probs, not too

Today is the day I'm going to Sydney with my boy as the preliminary part of the Advanced Rider Course at Oran Park tomorrow.  Problem is, after a few days of fine weather, it's gone to crap today as the pic shows.  I was hoping to avoid buying wet weather gear so soon, but that didn't happen.  My son hasn't got boots suitable for

Big John, a Newcastle "biker" identity, has been organising a Biker Toy Run for 31 years and the three of us (The Road King, Me and my son) went on it.  Bad weather threatened all morning but after a quick call from Roy, we were going to brave it and our enthusiasm was rewarded with a dry run.  We rode over to Sandgate where

Today was hot, 35 degrees and counting.  Some cloud rolled in later in the afternoon so I took the opportunity to throw the boy on the back of the bike, slip on my new leather jacket and off we went. There's a mountain just west of us with a nice winding road leading up to a scenic lookout.  The Harley had no trouble growling up the steep
