The trip home from Albury up the Hume Hwy is a route I've travelled at least three times in the last 12 months on my 2009 Harley-Davidson® Road King® and the 700ks or so doesn't even rate on the daunting scale any more.  Heffy and I took our time getting out the door, thankfully the pelting rain of yesterday had cleared up but there still appeared to be a hint of it about.

Without having to put too much wet gear back on we adopted our usual last ride day attitude, "if we get more wet now it won't matter".  There was a cafe, called Morrison's in Holbrook about 50k's up the road that advertises the best coffee on the Hume I'd always been interested in stopping at just to check, so we skipped breakfast at Albury and left for there.  The coffee was OK, certainly not the best on the Hume and the breakfast was OK as well.

The next stop was Gundagai for fuel and a coffee, and being only just over 500ks from home we could smell the end of the trip so there wasn't any mucking about. The weather held out and gradually the day got finer as we passed Yass, Goulburn and we pulled in for some fuel at the BP at Marulan.  It was a messy construction zone and although we could see some travellers stopped at the cafe we opted to keep going to the Shell at the Exeter turnoff  rather than fight our way throught the building work.

As it turned out there was building work at the Shell as well, it was packed but some Macas and coffee soon set things up properly for the trip home.  We didn't need to fuel up again but did pull in at Thornleigh Macas for a quick lardy meal and refreshment.

No mucking about today, we were home before dinner and yet another great few days on the Harley-Davidson® signed off on.  One topic of subsequent conversation though was the sense of riding in Victoria.  This is the third time in about 12 months I've been down there in December - March and rain, floods, hail and cold have been a feature each time.  Fortunately this time the weather was great at the Rally though!
