With the Harley's dropped off at the Bikes Only Depot about 15 k's outside of Perth CBD today was out "day off" and time to have a bit of a look around WA's capital.  A quick spot of shopping at the brand name end of town followed by a change of accommodation pace saw us in a taxi heading up to the Hyatt Regency for the last night of the epic.

With our luggage stowed in the Hyatt it was time to head to Fremantle the quickest way we could for a good look around, a couple of drinks with lunch and a cruise back.  This occasion in a Perth taxi was interesting as always, with a brief selection of a bollywood CD for our auditory pleasure.

We arrived in Fremantle at our the ferry wharf we'd need to find to get back to Perth and headed towards the old Gaol, which was very interesting.  Then to the dock area where we picked Joe's Fish Shack as the provider of a spectacular local seafood lunch and a few drinks.

After lunch and a quick icecream it was time to look through the streets of Fremantle and the markets therein.  The place has a real party feel with cafe's full and like in Perth, footpath seating everywhere.  While walking back in the direction of the ferry wharf we passed an interesting t-shirt shop where a "Cougar Bait" shirt took my son's eye.  With plenty of laughs and an undertaking from him to wear it while travelling home the next day the t-shirt was acquired.

I also managed to squeeze in a quick haircut before sitting down at the markets near the ferry wharf for another drink while waiting for our ship to sail in.

Onboard now, and the cruise up the historic Swan River avec commentary was very pretty and quite interesting.  It's known for it's expensive real estate and the houses certainly didn't disappoint.  We decided to bypass the free wine tasting onboard in order to stick to beer and the view.

About an hour and a half later we were back in Perth walking back to the Hotel ready to clean up and hit the Executive Lounge for some free drinks and food.

As good as the day was, the conversation turned to the ride and a unanimous agreement from the three of us that made the trip that we'd rather be getting back on the Harley's tomorrow to head north than getting on a plane to head home.
