Quick trip to Sydney

A mate had decided he wanted to take a trip to Sydney to have a quick look at Trivetts Harley Davidson who had advertised a BBQ, not that food was the sole reason. After doing 6000k's plus over the last few weeks riding to Mt Isa, Townsville and back home I was suprised that I was itching to get back on the bike and I'd not been to Trivetts before so I decided to join him.

We left about 8.30am and took the easy ride down the freeway and then down the Pacific Hwy through Chatswood.  I haven't been that way for a long time, it sadly hasn't changed much, for me despite the tolls the M2 is a much better option to get into town.  Over the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the first time for my '09 Road King and after a little mucking around without any help from the GPS we made it to the Trivetts.

Unlike the local dealership Harley Davidson is all Trivetts sell in motorcycles but it's hard to ignore the large range of very exotic and expensive car brands they also sell.  After a quick bacon and egg roll my mate chatted to the manager and his staff and I looked through the bikes on the showroom floor and through the accessories and clothes.  Nothing really caught my eye and I did note there wasn't any Road Kings on the floor.

We wandered next door and looked at some Land Rovers and very sporty Jags before heading off to Balmoral Bathers for a nice meal by the waterfront.  When we arrived there it was perfect weather but 30 minutes later it was blowing a gale, raining hard and people were running for cover.  By the time the meal was over it was still raining and not showing any signs of letting up.  To add to the situation my wife called to let me know that it was pouring at home too.  Oh well.

Fortunately,I always carry wet weather gear, my mate hadn't brought his but it was time to head out into it and either get wet or not.  I put the wet weather jacket on, opting not to muck around with the pants while I was standing in the rain and shortly after we were heading back up the hill towards North Sydney and the M2 this time to work out way back to the freeway home.  By the time we got to Pennant Hills Road we were in sunshine and fortunately we didn't strike rain for the rest of the trip home, although I could see plenty about and it was very apparent we weren't far behind it.

Back home, a quick coffee and debrief concluded a good day out on my Harley Davidson Road King.
