The Road King Goes To Business

Date:
By Wom Battle

Today the weather was beautiful, typical mid week day it seems.  Unusually, it wasn't up to me to get the kids to school and I had an 8.30am breakfast meeting at one of our business' partners offices who were presenting on some technology of interest.

I couldn't resist the urge to ride the Road King to the meeting.  Opportunities to take it out on a weekday will be rare.  So off I went, gloveless, jacketless, full face helmet and work atire on.  The meeting was about 15 minutes ride in traffic from home and I enjoyed every minute of it.

I was really surprised at the fuss made over the Harley while there.  I've known our hosts for quite some years and there was nearly as much discussion about the 10 year old american iron technology than the was about the newest thing in serious, but green, geek hardware.

After the meeting I took it to the office until lunchtime when I dropped it home intending to pick up my car for the afternoon.  Had to laugh when I got there, my wife had decided to take my aussie V8 to drop the kids off and go to work and I got stuck with her BMW.  Oh well :-).

Conclusion.  The Road King is a good ride to business meetings.
