Fortunately though, today it wasn't mine. And more fortunately no-one was seriously injured.

I learnt only a couple of weeks ago while leafing through a Harley magazine, about the concept of "Iron Butts" which essentially means riding long distances and getting a sore arse (or not) as the case may be. As a  result the local

This morning's weather was much like yesterday. Perfectly sunny with a slight chill in the air.  I needed to do a couple of things including booking my Road King in for a service with the Harley Guru.  I also wanted to chat to the guru about the impending trip across the Nullarbor and get an opinion from him about any risks involved in

I had a lunch appointment with my accountant nearby that I was heading towards and driving past home, where my Harley had been parked since the weekend ride undergoing bit by bit cleaning where time allowed. It was a lovely sunny day with a slight nip in the air today and I felt like getting the very shiny beast out for a spin so I dropped the car

With the weekend ride plan out the window, JP and I spent a little time on Google Maps last night trying to work out a new plan for today.  Initially we were to head to Tuncurry from Walcha to meet the HOG chapter for lunch, but we were only 100k's or so from there and it didn't give us much to do for the next 6 hours.  There didn't seem

May is a wet month here around here, it's risky organising bigger rides but after seeing a brochure about riding the Thunderbolts way between Gloucester and Walcha NSW I decided I was going to do it on the first weekend I had free. I was going good weather or bad. This weekend was the one (Mother's Day and my son's birthday aside) and a workmate

A beautiful morning and an impending new members ride for the local HOG chapter got me out early to pick up the Road King, fill it with fuel  (14.69l @ $20.29) and set my son some homework goals to complete in order for him to join in.

On getting the bike back home I noticed that it's been quite a while since it was washed and it was

Rain was forecast today and there were a few clouds about, but after spending the day indoors yesterday the commitment level was high for a ride. The family was also keen to go somewhere nice for lunch so we decided to head to a little town called Dungog, across to the Bucketts Way and then to Gloucester.  The lunch location was flexible.

We

Today was the HOG ride to Toukley.  After a big day yesterday doing boring stuff I was keen for a ride and after quick SMS to Roy we decided to meet up and head for the ride's gathering place at Belmont.  My son on the back of course!

A quick fuel up (13.29l @ $17.40) and waiting for the start time saw about 13 Harley's ready to

I'd tentatively arranged with Roy to go for a ride with him today, but he woke up lame so a plan adjustment needed to be made.  My daughter was expecting a turn on the Road King so my wife and I started thinking about a possible destination for another nice lunch outing.

During the deliberations my father-in-law called up to offer to

The weather was fine this morning and I knew that the HOG Chapter were leaving for an overnighter this morning and thought that I'd tag along for a while.  I picked up the bike from the office, dropped back home and my son and I headed off to the meeting spot. A few k's from home I started to notice the engine warning light on the dial flash.
