A 4.30am rise in order to get to Warnervale for a 6am meeting with some localish fellow riders striking out for Tumut for a charity ride run by the Blue Liners TMCC.  This rally used to to run regularly in the late '90's and ceased in 2002 and was resurrected this year when the TMCC decided to take over the management of it.  Given I have

I was told yesterday to expect a call about 10am to tell me my bike was ready to be picked up from it's first service.  The call came about 2pm, so I made my way to the local dealership to pick it up. I was unsure what the cost would be, the fitting of the Vance and Hines pipes was paid for as part of the purchase of the bike, I had

Another perfect winter Sunday morning saw my son and I meeting up with Roy for a planned all day 400k or so ride.  JP (or should I say Mr Gunna) piked out at the last minute citing helping a friend move house, some people just don't order priorities correctly!

We left the local servo a touch later than planned and headed up towards

The first day with the new Road King and I was meeting up with JP and a bunch of his friends for the maiden voyage.  A bit of an early start for winter saw us meeting up at 7.45am not too far from home and when I arrived there were about 10 bikes of all kinds lined up. An esoteric mix of Harleys', V-Stars and Sports Bikes, a couple of pillions

Today's HOG ride was to Wiseman's Ferry.  The morning weather looked slightly threatening, but certainly not enough to even consider not going.  My son was very keen to come along and armed with his new gautex all weather gloves we headed off to the meeting place in Belmont.  Five other members, one with his wife as pillion, were

An hour or so after a call from Roy P saw the Road King fuelled up and ready for a ride.  While waiting for Roy to show a shower of rain, which was forecast for the day, passed over but the decision was made and we were on our way not matter what.

The route was agreed, Paterson via Maitland, a short stop and then on to Dungog.

OK, Vivaldi's famous violin concertos are probably not what you'd expect to see mentioned here, but they certainly sprang to mind during the 450k's we rode today on our way between Port Macquarie and home via Wauchope, Walcha and Gloucester.

Thunderbolts Way revisited saw Roy P, my son and I leave Port a little later than we'd planned (10.30ish

The much anticipated Port Macquarie HOG long weekend kicked off today in perfect riding weather, very unseasonal for early June. My son and I arrived at the scheduled meeting point on time and saw the biggest gathering of the local HOG chapter we'd seen to date. Another two HOG chapters were  heading north to meet us.

While we were

Roy P called up in the early afternoon and suggested an impromptu ride for a couple of hours.  My eldest daughter was surprisingly keen to go so the answer was given and we threw on the gear.

After a quick fuel stop (14.74l @ $20.77) we headed to Roy's and the suggested destination was the Cathering Hill Bay Pub. The weather wasn't

Fortunately though, today it wasn't mine. And more fortunately no-one was seriously injured.

I learnt only a couple of weeks ago while leafing through a Harley magazine, about the concept of "Iron Butts" which essentially means riding long distances and getting a sore arse (or not) as the case may be. As a  result the local
